Our story

The Chalet Ave has been built in 1940 but has been renovated several times. In 1995 the entire Chalet underwent a total renovation and modernization to which the Eiger apartment has been added. In the beginning the Chalet was a family holiday home, and then our family took permanent residency in Grindelwald for many years. Since 2000 we are delighted to share this family home with our guests from all over the world (see the guest book). We are happy to offer a Chalet in which you will feel at home since there are so many memories of our family, our grandparents and our parents. We left many items that belonged to the family in the house; therefore the Chalet is different from normal places you might rent. The watercolour paintings in both apartments have been painted by our father and grandfather who was a pilot in the Swiss Army. He loved to paint the views he had when flying over Switzerland. If you decide to come to the Chalet Ave we will be delighted to have you as our guests and we are sure that you will enjoy your stay in this very special place with its unforgettable view on the Grindelwald mountains..
